    A 40-line grep on mmap

    dgrep

    A tiny grep. It mmaps the file, walks it byte by byte with memcmp, and prints the line around each match. There's no read buffer and no copying, just a pointer into the mapped file.

Who am I

I'm Darvesh, Technical Product Lead at Intensity Labs, working remotely. I joined in 2025 to build the backend and run QA, and now I lead product as well.

Before that I spent three years at ElevateHQ on the software that works out what salespeople get paid, going from developer to senior developer along the way. Before that, I built backends for financial services at Shapeman.

Outside work I run a few Telegram bots that hundreds of people use each month, and I write down anything that took me too long to figure out. Away from the keyboard, I trek and travel, mostly somewhere green.
